The latest episode of Drag Race México poked fun at one of last year’s viral moments involving extraterrestrials. The drag queens were tasked with giving tiny alien bodies a glamorous makeover.

Last September, there appeared to be a major breakthrough with alien life on earth. Mexican journalist Jaime Maussan, who is also known as a UFO enthusiast, claimed to have two mummified alien lifeforms in his possession. The shriveled “alien bodies” were put on display at Maussan’s office in Mexico City. He added that the two specimens were dug up from Peru in 2017. The Mexican Congress also gave Maussan the floor to speak about his findings that were later debunked by the scientific community.

In January, a Peruvian forensics expert revealed that the “alien bodies” were dolls that were composed of human and animal bones with glue. The legend of the tiny aliens continued to live on episode 2×03 of Drag Race México.

Co-hosts Lolita Banana and Taiga Brava introduced this week’s mini-challenge, which was called “Extra Travestis.” Óscar Madrazo, who joins them weekly on the judges’ panel, played Gaymer Mau Drag, a spoof of Maussan. Luna Lansman joked that Medrazo in his gray wig reminded her of Mexican journalist Lolita Ayala.

Lolita Banana and Taiga Brava gave the 11 remaining queens a tiny alien of their own that resembled Maussan’s specimens. Each contestant dragged-up their aliens in fierce ways. They also had to dress up in alien drag themselves and participate in a galactic photoshoot. Eva Blunt and Unique won the mini-challenge this week.

The Internet loved seeing Drag Race México revisit the alien hoax. One person on X wrote with laughing emojis in Spanish, “What a f**king gem to see that the aliens Jaime Maussan presented to the Senate come out [in the episode].” Another person added, “Loved the reference to Jaime Maussan and his aliens in Drag Race México.”

Leexa Fox later won the La Feria Ball while María Bonita became the third queen to sashay away this season.
