The members of RBD are celebrating the band’s 20th anniversary in a big way. Today (Oct. 3), RBD members revealed that they have settled their financial dispute with ex-manager Guillermo Rosas.

Back in May, Rosas, who was behind RBD’s successful reunion tour last year, issued a statement denying financial mishandling by his company, T6H Entertainment. Anahí, Dulce María, Christian Chávez, Christopher von Uckermann, and Maite Perroni then revealed they would take Rosas and T6H Entertainment to court for alleged missing funds from the tour earnings. RBD’s statement claimed that an audit by Citrin Cooperman accounting found that T6H Entertainment received $1 million that was unaccounted for.

Back on Oct. 4, 2007, RBD announced that date would be commemorated as World RBD Day. Even while the band was inactive in the years that followed, their fans have continued to celebrate every Oct. 4. This year’s World RBD Day is extra special because Chavez revealed that they settled their case against Rosas and T6H Entertainment. Through a statement by Chavez, Perroni, and von Uckermann, they said Rosas’ T6H Entertainment was trying to claim $10,072,811.00 from the total tour earnings. They added that thanks to the claim they filed through federal court and with the California Labor Commissioner, all parties agreed to T6H Entertainment taking a substantially less $4,723,591.00 instead.

“We felt a responsibility to address the challenges that can arise in this industry, with our priority being the protection of artists’ rights,” the three members shared in the statement. “This is a reminder for young artists to have the courage to stand up for themselves and demand respect. This is an industry where it is vital to protect yourself.”

For reasons not known, Dulce María and Anahí’s names weren’t included in the statement. The ex-manager hasn’t commented publicly about the settlement. However, Anahí celebrated RBD Day on her social media accounts by wearing her school outfit from the Rebelde series.
