Bad Bunny is facing himself in a new promo for his upcoming appearance on Saturday Night Live.

Earlier this month, Bad Bunny was revealed to be pulling double duty on SNL as the host and musical guest. The promo video pokes fun at the Puerto Rican superstar’s past of wrestling for the WWE. Cast member James Austin Johnson plays a referee and asks Benito if he’s nervous about the hosting gig. “Hell no! I love being silly,” Bad Bunny responds in English. He’s also wearing a wig under his baseball cap.

Then a buzzed Bad Bunny emerges with a championship belt and says, “I got a Weekend Update for you amigo: You suck!” The two Benitos begin to trash talk each other in Spanish and English with the buzzed haircut one adding, “You put the L in SNL.” This infuriates the baseball cap Bad Bunny even more and he then makes a tongue-in-cheek reference to the time the Grammy Awards didn’t properly subtitle his performance on the show earlier this year.

“Please put on my subtitles,” he says. Then in Spanish, he references slang from LGBTQ+ ballroom culture in his next comment in Spanish. “This pendejo doesn’t know how to read,” he adds. Reading in this case means to thoroughly insult someone or call out their flaws. The two then come face to face for a final showdown that will be taking place this Saturday night on NBC.

With Bad Bunny talking Spanish with subtitles in this promo video, there’s a chance that his skits on the show could be in Spanish as well. In addition to NBC and Peacock, Telemundo PR revealed it will be airing the episode as well.

This will mark Bad Bunny’s third appearance on SNL, but his first time hosting. In April 2020, he made a cameo appearance during a Saturday Night Live at Home episode. In February 2021, Bad Bunny was the musical guest for the episode that was hosted by Regé-Jean Page.
