This Mexican Star Beat Sabrina Carpenter for the Top Spot on TikTok’s Top Global Artists List

Many of the biggest artists on TikTok this past year are Latinas. This morning (Dec. 4), TikTok revealed the platform’s top 10 biggest acts and songs. Reggaeton mexa star Yeri Mua took the crown as the world’s No. 1 artist on TikTok in 2024.
Yeri Mua solidified her jump this past year from influencer to female artist leading the reggaeton mexa wave. With over 25.4 million followers on TikTok, she took the No. 1 spot on the platform’s Global Top 10 Artists list. Yeri’s breakthrough hit “Linea Del Perreo” was used in over two million videos on TikTok. Back in January, she won Best New Artist at the 2024 TikTok Awards. The “Traka” singer pulled ahead of K-pop acts like ENHYPEN, LE SSERAFIM, Stray Kids, and aespa, and also pop princess Sabrina Carpenter. Mexican singer Kim Loaiza placed at No. 8 on the list.
“Thank you TikTok for this great gift that you’re giving to my career,” Yeri shared with Remezcla. “You help give power to my music and my message, which is to be myself, leave behind what people say and judge me for, and to inspire others to achieve their goals. Thanks to my followers, who are truly responsible for giving me an important place in the world. We are No. 1 in the world!!! Reggaeton mexa is No. 1 in the world! Mexico is No. 1 in the world!! A woman is number 1 in the world!!”
Two Latinas also appear on TikTok’s U.S. Top 10 Artists list. With more than 12.8 million followers on the platform, Ice Spice rose to No. 2 this year. In July, the Dominican-American rapper released her debut album Y2K. KATSEYE, which includes Cuban-American singer Daniela, placed at No. 8 on the list. Chilean reggaeton stars FloyyMenor and Cris MJ are the only Latine acts on TikTok’s U.S. Top 10 Songs list. Their collaboration “Gata Only” placed at No. 10 with over 50 million video creations on TikTok. Over on the global songs list, the duo claimed the No. 1 spot.
“Being recognized by TikTok for having the global number one song of the year is a dream come true,” FloyyMenor shared in a statement to TikTok. “I’m beyond grateful to everyone who supported this track and made it part of their lives. Thank you to all my fans for helping me take Chilean music around the world.”
Two more Latine artists who appear on TikTok’s Global Top 10 Songs list are Xavi and Pabllo Vittar. Brazilian drag pop star placed at No. 3 thanks to her collaboration “Alibi” with Sevdaliza and Yseult. Xavi is the sole corridos star on the list at No. 6 with his global hit “La Diabla.”
