Peso Pluma is evoking the relationship of an iconic and controversial Hollywood couple. Last night (July 18), the Mexican superstar teamed up with Kenia Os for his “Tommy & Pamela” music video based on Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee’s nineties romance.

“Tommy & Pamela” is one of the songs from Peso Pluma’s Éxodo album, released last month. In addition to exploring música mexicana through corridos and sierreño, he recorded a few reggaeton tracks for the LP. On the second disc are his global hit “Bellakeo” with Anitta and “Tommy & Pamela,” his collaboration with Mexican pop star Kenia Os. In the freaky reggaeton romp, Peso Pluma and Os sing about wanting to recreate Anderson and Lee’s nineties sex tape. Anderson, who starred in Baywatch, and Lee, the drummer for Mötley Crüe, divorced in 1998 following a tumultuous relationship.

The “Tommy & Pamela” music video opens with a VHS tape being inserted into a VCR. Director Daniel Eguren captures Peso Pluma and Os looking like spitting images of Lee and Anderson in the nineties. The two singers get cozy with each other amidst the flashes of the paparazzi cameras. With blonde bombshell hair, Os channels a few memorable moments from Anderson’s career. While straddling a motorcycle, she brings to mind Anderson’s action flick Barb Wire, and she later wears a red latex dress reminiscent of the Baywatch bathing suit.

Peso Pluma will kick off his Éxodo Tour tonight at the Moody Center in Austin, TX. Last month, he underwent surgery on his foot after he fractured it during a performance at the Governors Ball music festival. Following the release of her Pink Aura album in April, Os highlighted the reggaeton mexa scene on her Flow Mamita Rica EP, which features El Malilla, Yuri Mua, and Ghetto Kids.
