On July 14, The Recording Academy announced that the 2023 Grammy Awards would return to Los Angeles, CA. After a year hosted in Sin City, Music’s Biggest Night will take place on Feb. 5 at the Crypto.com Arena. The official nominations will be announced on Nov. 15.

“It’s the comeback we’ve been waiting for!” the official Instagram post reads. “Find out on Nov. 15, 2022 who the nominees of the 65th #GRAMMYs will be with Music’s Biggest Night set to return to the Los Angeles @cryptocomarena on Feb. 5, 2023.”

Although Latine nominees are rarely included in the main categories, a record-breaking album like Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti is an undeniable force to be reckoned with that should be taken into serious consideration. While Latine artists have the Latin Grammys, they should be able to go head to head with global artists like Doja Cat, Adele, and Harry Styles.

This year, albums released between Oct. 1, 2021, and Sept. 30, 2022, are eligible to be nominated. That means that hot Latine albums like the previously mentioned Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti (May 6, 2022), Anitta’s Versions Of Me (April 12, 2022), Sebastián Yatra’s Dharma (Jan. 28, 2022), and Rosalía’s Motomami (March 18, 2022) are all eligible.

Other potential A-list nominees include Christina Aguilera’s Aguilera (May 31, 2022), Daddy Yankee’s Legendaddy (March 24, 2022), Becky G’s ESQUEMAS (May 13, 2022), and Maluma’s The Love & Sex Tape (June 10, 2022), among other Latine artists.

Based on their album release dates, emerging artists like Yahritza Y Su Esencia’s Obsessed (Deluxe) (July 13, 2022), Eslabon Armado’s Nostalgia (May 6, 2022), and Silvana Estrada’s Marchita (Jan. 21, 2022), also qualify for a nomination. Another potential album that has left its mark is Encanto’s soundtrack (Nov. 19, 2021).

Other artists that are potentially set to release an album this year include Kali Uchis, Rauw Alejandro, and Wisin & Yandel. We are also keeping an eye out for further releases from Shakira and Cardi B, to name a few speculations.

Last year, Latine winners included Bruno Mars, Juanes, Alex Cuba, the late Vicente Fernandez, Eliane Elias With Chick Corea and Chucho Valdés, and Rubén Blades y Roberto Delgado & Orquesta.

We’ll see what the nominations for the Grammy Awards’ 65th edition have in store for us on Nov. 15.
