It’s 2023, which means a new batch of TV series will soon be vying for the attention of viewers, from The Last of Us to Freeridge. It also means some already beloved shows are returning for a new season, an impressive feat on its own since the lifespan of streaming series is declining these days.
It’s even more noteworthy when a series with Latine talent is greenlit. Late last year, a study by the Latino Donor Collaborative revealed that there has been little improvement in Latine representation in the TV industry over the last year. In 2021, a dismal 2.9 percent of TV shows were led by a Latine actor. In 2022, the number barely moved to 3.1 percent.
Below are 10 new and returning streaming TV shows (in no particular order) that feature at least one Latine actor in the cast. Circle your calendars now and make sure to support as many of them as you can, so studios can see that Latine audiences are tuning in and want to see themselves on the screen in 2023 and beyond.

Ted Lasso (Season 3)
In the sports comedy, coach Ted Lasso crosses over to England to guide a British fútbol team to victory, somehow leading us one of the most honest explorations of the human condition. Star Cristo Fernández plays one of the players Dani Rojas, an enthusiastic Mexican fútbol player who joins the fútbol team midway through the first season. Remezcla described Dani as a character “who lives and breathes an ever-evolving complexity of feelings, thoughts, and emotions…and the sport of fútbol.” We’re sure Dani is ready to make some more winning goals in the third season.

He started as a petty criminal who gains superpowers when he defeats a demon.

The series follows a trio of true-crime podcast aficionados who decide to investigate a death in their apartment building. We’re sure the third season will have just as many twists and turns as the first two.
Only Murders in the Building season 3 premieres on Hulu sometime in 2023.
